The Col du Mont Cenis at 2,081m is one of the oldest and most historically significant alpine crossings, used by Hannibal, Napoleon, and countless armies and travellers. Today the summit plateau is dominated by the artificial Lac du Mont Cenis reservoir, creating a serene high-altitude landscape.
