The Col de Sommeiller at 2,993m is one of the highest driveable roads in the Alps, located in the Italian Piedmont near the French border. The rough, unAsphalt upper section is passable only by 4WD and adventurous motorcyclists, opening briefly for a few weeks in midsummer.
