The Malojapass at 1,815m is unique among alpine passes — from the Engadin plateau it barely rises above the valley floor, but descends precipitously into the Bregaglia (Bergell) valley on the Italian side via a series of tight switchbacks. The dramatic contrast and the jewel-like Silsersee below make it unmissable.
